Oh heck Steve your body is def playing up for you. Hope you get things back in a good zone and as others have said it’s often what you don’t expect that causes issues.

We are both night owls, but I’m also an early bird which makes for not much sleep, I rarely sit down before 9 I finish work anywhere between 6-7 and make tea, post work runs with my friend, housework, tidy up, shower it’s non stop. I’m up at 6 to either run early or catch up on housework. I sometimes wonder if it’s worth it to get a Friday off.

But that said 1am is still very late for us.

Got 10m in over the weekend (2 runs) and lots of walking. We were up at 1.10am with Ellie not good panting heavily we think a touch of heatstroke. She didnt settle and I was awake most of the night. Typically had to be up at crack of dawn as it’s mam’s wing walk today. I’m shattered.

I would be furious MrsB insist on a face to face appt, people have pains for lots of reasons to assume you’re overweight is terrible.

I think the humid weather has made running a bit harder all round (I love hot sunny days but when they come they are on the humid side these days)

I lurk here as I keep tabs on how Steve is doing(waves)

Mrs B I am so angry on your behalf how dare the GP assume things when they have not sat face to face with you .Which is needed for HRT.
Sadly I have found the NHS has got lazy and trying to cut costs at patients expense this is on personal experience.
( sorry if it offends but so true here in Wales)

It’s definitely the same in north east England too poppy I have a long history of health issues which flared up in January I tried numerous times for appt but even a telephone appt was weeks out and outside of appointment waitlist! It came to strong abdominal pains to get to speak to someone some 7month later. Still not fixed or identified they asked me if I wanted to got for a scan…. No you’re the doctor you tell me what I need to do.

I’m tired just reading your post GG.
Well done on the speedy park runs I was ok with mine being slower as it was all trail and hills. Thanks
Managed 8 at 11mm today ( on the plan)

The up hills were slower and down quicker managed the average does it matter how?

I’m never sure.

FF what was the proud parent moment.

Mrs b make sure you don’t accept that treatment and pursue it.

My coach used to have me run to effort level so running uphill would be slower but same effort level as flat so I’d say what you did was right LL. Well done.

Oh crikey so sorry FF I forgot Thursday was the wedding how did it go?

Looby Loo our son got married Thursday. My wife is now dog sitting at their house.
I've just ran a smidgen under 13.4 miles, having breakfast, a shower and the first half of the football before popping over to join her for the 2nd half, then some lunch before work. I shall be starting an hour early because there will only be 2 of us, there used to be 4.

Well done LL for your 8 miles this morning at your target pace.

Well done FF for your 13.4 miles this morning.

I ran a recovery pace 4 miles on roads this morning, but pushing on the up and down hills. Inevitably, the pace is quicker

on the downhills. Coincidentally, my average pace was 11 minute miling LL.
I've just switched over from the athletics to the footie ⚽️

Mrs B., the doctor that told you to lose weight, did he/she know your height & weight when giving you that so-called advice? I ask that because about 5 years ago, my wife told a doctor on the phone that she was concerned about being so breathless. He asked her if she had put on any weight lately, to which she said 'Yes a little, I think'. Dr. then told her to lose weight. That Dr. had never seen her, nor had he any idea of her size. He could have caused her to become anorexic.(My wife is of quite a small build.) That doc has been the subject of many complaints. We changed our GP practice eventually.

A nice chatty 10.2 miles run in the forest this morning with two club mates. It was very humid, and we soon started to sweat 😓
