Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Thanks LL, I did enjoy it but just lacked the ability to keep the pace even. I often do when doing intervals though.

😂my wife should..should be "retiring" from such long jaunts after July LL! I'd rather her stick to up to about 20's.
Great that your training is going well FF, keep sensible now and blast that up coming marathon!
Hope you're knocks are almost better now hs

Very windy morning and another road run of just four miles was ok.

Rest day for me today. It is unusual for me to enter a race and not race it Steve but the MSM is a marathon of experience, just running at midnight in daylight, I shall enjoy the atmosphere and be taking photos too.

Your wife is amazing Steve I hope to follow her footsteps I really think the big distances are my preference, I’ve only managed 31.5 in training before as I just struggle with taking so much time out of the weekend.

Hope to feel the same after The Wall.

2019 I went a bit crazy adding in my first 50k between 2 marathons. 2nd was the 4th I’d done that year.

Went to club last night we were doing a recce of a route ready for a club race next month. I won’t do the race as it’s 3 days before the big run I was going to marshall until work have me going to wales for 2 days instead.

Sorry you’re still in pain ha, hope it eases soon.

I’m tired just reading your efforts FF!

I think we had a chat here a while ago about cuckoo’s (or may have been another thread) but since posting to say I’ve not heard one for a long time I’ve been hearing them loads this year.

Thanks Steve, I went for a short walk this morning and aches not too bad. Its worse at night though. If aches in left side are still a problem on Sunday (a week after the fall) I will try to get a Dr appointment.

FF, I won't enter races these days if I'm not fully fit, because I know that I wouldn't be able to resist racing them. Your MSM Marathon sounds idealic, so I can understand why you won't do it at race pace.

GG, my favourite race distance is 10 miles, but I've always enjoyed long training runs, especially in the forest. Your mileage in 2019 is very impressive. My best year was probably 1993, when I ran 3 marathons, the 3rd being a PB.
Thanks the pain isn't as bad now, but as I said above, if it hasn't improved by Sunday, I may try to get a Dr's appointment.

I think I started the conversation re Cuckoos, and I've heard another since.

Just a reasonable pace walk to the post box this morning. Didn't feel too bad.

Lovely woodland run at lunchtime with my friend. It was so good for the soul despite the heavy showers. Mileage creeping back up nicely.

Nice one GG. I am only on 65 this month but have done 135 on my bike so hope that compensates.
The most exotic looking bird I have seen on my feeder is a spotted woodpecker. I do have great tits nesting in a bird box. I think it's late for them.

Your marathon event will be special on a different level then FF and so worth doing.
That must have been quite a tumble hs and a good idea to maybe have things checked out if they still hurt.
Doing well gg. Good that you're back on track.
Cuckoos as everyone might know are " red listed" as in very severe decline in the UK. Probably not the case with folks here but the "urban" and "suburban" Cuckoo can often fool people: the Collared Dove has often been cited as a Cuckoo! Cuckoos are rare here and I've not heard or seen one for a decade or more.
Another four mile on the same road route this morning, the same route three times on a trot with the four mile mark coming up at four different points varying by 25 metres! Tech gadgets!!
