Good luck on the 26th GG I’ll think of you as it was my Mum’s birthday. Good luck with your marathon training HS. Well done on your intervals Steve.
I did track tonight. It was 8 mins at 10k pace 1 min 1 k pace 4 minutes 5k pace then 3 minutes recovery and repeat.
I ran out of steam on the last 4 minute but it was very hot.

Thanks LL it will be my 15th marathon, although not an official one.
That sounds a very good track session, so I'm not surprised that you ran out of steam on the last 4 minute.
I ran 6.47 miles this morning with a running friend who is much quicker than me, which made me run harder than usual.

Did a nice club session last night. Was supposed to be a 10k but ended up 7.2. It was all on country roads. Really enjoyed it.

Gosh LL that made me need a lie down! Well done!
A forest marathon sounds perfect! I really must learn how to download a route to my Garmin it would make like easier than remembering where I have to turn off on a run.
Feet are taped up the bunion is causing me no end of issues and I’m just scared for my left foot. Fingers crossed.
I’m doing it in the one day hs. Still very much looking forward to it.
It seems our parkruns have been given go ahead again, although the council didn’t say which ones so nothing in stone yet. I know our local park is small narrow paths and we’ve seen a huge increase in people walking / with kids early mornings I’ve been in the park a few times at parkrun time and it’s been busy it may not be appreciated by other park users as we 400-500+ on any given week and that is big numbers for the area it’s 3lap run and until it spaced out it’s congested. Be good to have it back though the team have been phenomenal during lockdown and so motivating and keeping the pr community going. I wrote to parkrun HQ asking to give them a shout out which they have replied to say they will.

Country roads so much nicer than urban roads LL! Thankfully I live only a half mile away from where I am not on city roads--I live in a big city but right on the edge!.
I run harder when I run with my wife hs but wouldn't manage it with a friend in the same way. Oh.bunion gg. And ugh. A running friend had hers surgically removed recently after a couple of years discomfort when doing ultras.
I would think that some thought might have to be put into the reintroduced park running where " new exercisers" have claimed some of the space. Covid created opportunities for everyone to use their parks whereas previously they hadn't thought much about it. Still having soreness in my hip which I noted first came on a year ago. I know what I should do!

Geordiegirl, there are videos on YouTube regarding syncing courses from Garmin Connect to your phone and Garmin Watch. They were helpful, but it depends on the devices. I had to experiment a bit. The only drawback running with the navigation screen on your watch, is that it doesn't show your pace or distance. You can however, change the screens with the up and down buttons.
Good luck running the Ultra in the one day!
Take it easy Steve with that hip.
Today is a rest day, but I have done a lot of stretches etc as per usual rest days.

Five miles in my "dud" Asic trainers to see whether a change of shoe with a different heel to toe differential improved things. My hip wasn't so bad but the trainers were "dead" and I wished that I'd worn my hokas or saucony after all! Good time to do stretches on rest days hs, that's when I do mine too but I must factor in less running days per week (5/7 an ideal). I guess I just don't want to know if I have arthritis in my hip LL--wife had a total replacement but I don't fancy that!!

I understand that Steve. I did 10.4 today up in the middle of the night to beat the heat 07:30 that is. I felt some discomfort behind my knee after the club run Thursday and feeling it again today hope it’s not going to worsen 😧

I always wear Asics Steve for road running and have done so for many years. I wear Salomons for muddy forest runs. I hope you don't have arthritis in your hip. You would probably have to wait for over a year if you needed surgery ☹
Well done LL for your 10.4 miles, and a good idea starting off early. I hope that the pain behind your knee doesn't get any worse.
I ran my 64th successive forest not a parkrun 5k this morning in 28.08, a WAVA of 67.31%
