You're right Steve I have a half booked for November when the weather suits me better. I am doing some running with a friend who has 3 marathons booked in the Autumn so tempted to enter one but she has just had a fall and hurt her knee so maybe it won't happen.
I did a hill relays with my club last night and it was good fun. Went swimming this morning and hoping to improve that. Having a running rest day today and have a club session planned tomorrow weather permitting.

ha ha HS none of us practice what we preach.....

That one did cross my mind gg but not sure about travelling to it. I am thinking about a local one which would be less stressful for me.
I had planned to do one next year as it is a significant birthday but I am going to be away on a trip in the September so that would interfere.

Ran 5.28 miles in the forest yesterday afternoon in 51.53, an average of 9.49 minute miling. Average HR 130, max 140. I was really pleased with that, as it was probably the hottest day of the year.

I ran a hilly road 10k this morning at an easier 10.10 minute miling.

Thank LL, I seem to be getting fitter now, with lower heart rate when pushing the pace.

The training comments on Garmin Connect, ie "this was easier than your usual effort, unproductive" etc. are no longer being shown. This has been the case for 2 weeks or more now. I'm not really bothered as they were so inaccurate, especially when a really good training session was "unproductive!"

Easy 10.10 miling hs!! And that HR is bloody impressive!
Sadly, badly, really ---my HR going at that rate gives me a pace which I dare not mention in a public thread!!
A good half marathon while your on the boil is a way to go LL. It might/could also set you up nicely with added confidence for a good marathon too.
Weights this morning for me and no running which sees me slip down the table a bit. Running with my wife in the morning which might make a difference.

😂😖arghh.. she's quicker ( or faster depending on one's view of speed!) than I am but one day we might have a race! Yeah, I do have a competitive head which really is to my disadvantage in some ways because I can't do what my head remembers😂.
I did 10k while my wife went on to complete 16 miles.

15c at start and no sunshine so made for a pleasant warm run.

It's good to still have a competitive head Steve. I have too, and really push myself during Saturdays 5k's. I run against club mates 22 years or more younger than me, which gives me the incentive to keep going.

Today is a rest day, and just as well, as its been raining all day. I met up with a club mate this morning for a coffee in the village. We discussed running, of course, and politics.
