Just looked at my overall totals and I’m at 11724 miles ran in my 18yrs on fetch. There would be more I wasn’t very good at recording in the early years.

I checked my total mileage on fetch as 22,924 miles. There are many more unrecorded miles, as I started running in 1980.I retrospectively added the majority of my races from 1982 onwards. I ran the Liverpool and Southampton marathon that year.

5 more miles this evening. It was hard work today. Not sure if this is the cumulative effects of the mileage in recent weeks (just realised I have broken 100 in the last 21 days 😳) or a late night after a party last night or the dreaded lurgy which has properly got hold of my OH making its unwelcome presence felt. Anyway under 9 to go now so it’s going to take more than a cold to stop me now 😁

Wow @hillstrider that is mega miles without the unrecorded miles. Very impressed! Flipping heck CD take care getting the last 9 but also feel that you will do it. So please be careful and then prioritise recovery. |

Thanks GG, and well done to you too for your mileage. Looking back over the years at my race times, all my PB's etc were gun times, and run without Garmins. I often wonder what the times would have been with chip times. Don't overdo it CD for that final push, your health is more important than mileage. |

Don't blame you for calling it a day when you were that cold hs but well done on a fair distance. Great total gg and nice rounding up or even more miles for a"nice" figure! Phew, you've done brilliantly this year despite the interferences you've negotiated. And good overall totals here on fetch both of you. Glad you've had some sunshine Lesley and enjoyed the RD role. Right to the wire Cheeky! What a run in !! Mildish here this morning but still damp with torrential rain and wind due on NYD. Did two miles and pondered over my silly streaking! I don't know about deliberately drawing a line under it gg, in some ways it gives me a sort of achievable target because on the streak site a single mile counts and I can do that ....as can everyone else! It might though be holding me back from trying harder and being more focused on a sensible training plan that might yield better results. Pondering continues! |

Congrats to @falcarius on hitting the target. Well done. Good luck to @Cheeky’s Dad, who is well within reach and only one run away. Give it a good shake. I am finished for the year with a 13km plod today. It was a tough one, after a HM yesterday which involved 8km of (slow) hill repeats. It has been a big year on a personal front. PB total miles (1603), a PB road marathon and a debut trail marathon. I am now reflecting on how lucky I have been to punch out those miles without any serious injury and in such places as Rome, Trento, Nice, Buisson, London and of course at home. I missed Devon and Cornwall because of a cold, but I will be back. It has been great to share the running year (well at least, the back half after I joined fetched from RW) with you all. I draw a lot of inspiration from you all and have enjoyed reading about your various running exploits. Look forward to going around again next year. Happy New Year. |

The only thing that dragged me out the the door this morning was the hanging 748.2 miles for 2024. After a lot of procrastination, I chalked up 2.8 miles in heavy rain/sleet. (Forecast is worse tomorrow) |

@PeterFay well done especially in that weather. Well done on your achievements JackFW. it’s good to reflect on being injury free and the real important things. I’m not going to “achieve” the 1000 but I’m not actually bothered. Keep going Steve until you CBA 😄 |

Thanks Steve, I definitely feel the cold more these days. Well done for this mornings 2 miles in torrential rain 🌧. Good luck with your pondering 🤔 Well done JackFW for your 13k plod this morning, rounding off the year. Congratulations for this years excellent 1603 miles, marathon pb and debut trail marathon. I'm glad that you are feeling 'at home' on fetch. I've been here for many years, but was with RW too, until they stopped the forums. I ran a very enjoyable, but tough 6.62 hilly miles in Lepe Inclosure this morning with 3 running friends. It was slightly warmer than yesterday, and didn't rain. |
