A good result despite being over what you wanted to achieve, well done Jack. Enjoy your steak and beer.

Ever onward Jack FW! Glad conditions were good in the main, I agree that 11000 is too big to make it enjoyable for everyone, each to their own. It's a pity that events are often chasing BIGGER these days and also extreme running is almost fashionable! Good effort in park run Donnie1. Great comeback Peter after a few years with issues to contend with. Pity that you're runs have curtailed a bit FF, you were putting in some impressive regular distance runs but I understand the temporary cba approach. I've hovered in that area frequently! Thanks all, my lurgy/ cold is better. Did 3.4 in the dark on roads early this morning. I need new batteries for my head torch so I couldn't make the trails. |

And well done hs on your hilly 4 miles off instead of park run. My intention soon (!) is to put more effort into my outings too.

FF, I see that you haven't done any races lately, but you did a parkrun a couple of weeks ago. Donnie 1, well done for your sub 25 minutes parkrun. Peter Fay, it's good to hear from you again on this thread. Well done for completing a half marathon after your previous problems. JackFW, well done in the Melbourne Marathon, so close to the 4 hours. I agree that 11,000 is a very large number of runners, inevitably causing some congestion. Steve45, good news that your cold is better now 😄 Well done for this mornings 3.4 miles in the dark, and thanks for your well done for my hilly run yesterday. I ran a recovery pace 4 miles this morning on roads, but including a loop round the local park. The grass was very wet. I'm meeting Sarah H this afternoon for a coffee in our favourite cafe. It's a 1.5 mile walk each way, so useful mileage. |

Well done Jack, that's a great time. Some good running happening in here. Hope feel better soon Steve. I finished in 4:58:55 (watch time). That was one tough race, no flat sections at all. The scenery was stunning, it's a very beautiful part of the country. The high hills had snow on the top. Had to defrost the car when I left the house this morning. Soon warmed up and regretted wearing longs. Shattered now, heading to bed soon. |

Sleep well Lesley you smashed it on that course. Well done Jack great attitude and time. I did a 10k today I wasn’t sure what to do as nowhere near my best but spotted the 65 min pacer on the line having done 64:27 last year and decided to go with him. Did 64:07 so happy enough as it’s where I am at the moment. |
