I'm sure your experience of struggling in training following a hard session can be utilised effectively in future hs. Good that you've had a decent run since. Well done Mrsb on doing two things at once! I couldn't listen to anything at all when I'm out and about walking or running. I'd be too disorientated 🥺! Enthusiasm swings back and forth for so many people who run, sorry to note that you're not feeling so enamoured with it currently FF. Still, seven miles whilst in that mode shows your underlying grit and commitment. I've done a FF re the weather this morning. It is pelting down with rain, colder than of late and not light for another hour or so. Can't muster any enthusiasm for getting out in that!

I admire you seeking out steeper hills Jaks well done!
I am going to listen to fetch on tomorrows run great to have him talking about this wonderful place on the internet.
I can understand why you don’t want to run yet Steve or select a rest day FF. It’s dry here today but frosty, mam wants to run so we’ll go out at lunchtime. I might drive up to the fells for a couple of miles she can always run back if she wants a bit more (supposed to be a rest day for me)
Sports massage tonight and my legs are ready for it.

I’m like you Steve I never listen to anything. I did try listening to music but it just put me off my rhythm. I’ve never tried listening to a podcast.
Have a good run with your mam GG.
I’ve just been out for a very short recovery run which felt good and very much needed.

When I started running and built my mileage up to over 10 miles I was bored and bought some aftershokz so I could listen to music and take away the boredom of long distance running. I think I wore them no more than a dozen times back in 2014/15 and I don't think I've worn them since.

I go through phases, I am less inclined to listen to music but like catching up on a podcast. That said a few weeks ago the road noise from the dual carriageway meant I couldnt hear the chat properly so switched to music (to drown out said noise) and I really enjoyed it.

I haven't run with music for many years now. I used to have an I pod that clipped to my shorts and found it useful on long solo runs to maintain a consistent good pace. Status Quo tracks were perfect for this. However, once the device would no longer charge up, I never replaced it. I've got no desire whatsoever to run with music now.
I ran a solo 6k on roads this morning at recovery pace, in heavy rain and wind. The roads were flooded in places, and the pavements also very wet. I had to run as far as possible away from the kerbs to avoid being sprayed by water from cars driving through the deep water.

I don’t like to run with music I like to hear what’s going on behind me. I do listen occasionally in a solo walk.
25 miles done in my holiday not exactly as the plan said but enough I hope.
I had a really sore glute so much so I thought it was a really bad injury could hardly bear weight on my leg and the next day it faded as quickly as it came really odd but I’ll take it.
Enjoy your massage GG. You were right to swerve the weather Steve. We’re not looking forward to it as it’s been lovely here.
Well done on your run today HS and everyone else sorry I’ve not time to mention everyone.
