I don’t parkrun and missed all the data drama, I saw a couple of posts but thought they were removing sharing stats more than anything.
Did a longer run with my pal today to get her the garmin 15k badge. We’re both still struggling I can’t wait until I run and feel 100% again. 10m added so ticking along ok.
Well done on parkruns, intervals and getting out there.

Well done GG for yesterday's 10 miles.
I ran a solo, hilly road 7k this morning.

Hello all, some good running has been happening well done everyone. 14.1 yesterday to avoid today's rain but when I woke the rain had stopped so I went out for a short run and came back home after an unintentional 10.1 miles and 7 x 1/4 mile reps with at least 3/4 mile rests.

I see, and everyone else has seen that the stats removed for Park Run are those of sub 17 minute males and 20 minute females.
Fair enough, if you are clipping along at that pace you're pretty competitive and your times are of greater interest within a running club I suppose than to most people doing Park Run. Maybe unfortunately Park Run has become a cheap ( free of course) option as a race for club runners. Mara M pointed out that park run has all the elements of a proper race going on within it. Great hill running hs and good that you got a longer run in gg. Back up to good training FF, Phew...with reps as well. I did one mile.🙄

I must admit to being confused about the whole data thing. On the whole life is competitive and we manage to live with that.

Thanks GG.
Well done FF for yesterday's 14.1 miles and today's 10.1 miles with 7 x .25 miles reps.
I believe Steve that age category records are also being removed. This is going down like a lead balloon with us elderly park runners. Well done for todays mile.

It's all a bit bonkers. I agree with both you Mrsb and hs. Even though I don't do it I've always enjoyed the stats and data, and if people aren't interested in that then just ignore it. Pity it's created some negative views though . Brrr here this morning. 4.2 miles as the sun rose; a nice clear calm morning but at 1c a bit of a shock to the system after yesterday's mildish start. Good to see scores of daffodils blooming all over the place.

From something I read it seems the problem is people being unhappy there are some faster than them and making them feel inadequate - is that right? If so that is totally bonkers. We should be celebrating what others can do and if wanted use that to inspire you to try harder.
I didnt run yesterday as it was highland coo making.... and I've been reporting my feeling of fatigue to my coach so she's put me on a cut back week. I don't want to drop behind my target so I will keep ticking over some runs but working more on trying to get some rest and catch upon other things this week.
Well done gettin gout today Steve, hs and anyone else out and nice to see a longer run for you again FF, hope the enthusiasm is back.

I understand it’s come from females being unhappy that transgender athletes are breaking their records. And how can parkrun really verify any bodies details. I think if you’re that quick pay for races to get your recognition.
Well done everyone a lot of serious miles. I managed a very slow 18 yesterday about 1 min a mile slower than I’d like but was running with a pal who was struggling a bit.
