The conditions were good, with very little mud under foot. We had to change course a couple of times when the way ahead was blocked by white cows. They have a dangerous reputation, so we always give them a wide berth.

I've just realised that it's only 3 weeks until the New Forest 10 miles.

FF, yes I've entered it. I run it every year and have a nice collection of horse brasses.

I hope your knee is much better for that event then hillstrider. I hope you have plenty of time to polish those brasses.

Thanks FF, it was ok during this mornings 8.23 miles, so should be ok. I won't be pushing the pace too hard, and will run "within myself "
I'm afraid I've never polished the brasses. They are in a bag with the others.

I could imagine a big open fireplace with a big wooden mantle and the brasses hung over the top or down the sides with a huge fire burning in the winter. You've spoiled my imagination now ;-)

If I did have a big open fire, I would certainly hang them up. They don't supply leather straps though, so hence, just kept in a bag with other medals.🎖

Well done everyone who did the Dr K Cup challenge.

What a real pity that apparently so many Park Runs are short/long ...but I had thought they were measured accurately with a wheel. I suppose the "variation" is why the finish times are not counted as as proper 5k times ? Corners, twists and turns all go to giving different distances on a same route don't they? That one second was important FF! Still flying!
Wise to avoid cows hs on your 8.23 run. But ending on point 23 is awful 😂!
Into the dark early this morning when it was just 4c and did another 5k, by the time I got to the trails it was light enough

Steve not all parkruns are officially measured. They are measured but not officially.
