Well done @Steeley and welcome to Fetch! I feel like I'm going to have call time on my 1000 mile ambition for 2024. If I was going to have any chance I was going to need to do about 20 miles today and it's hard when the sun doesn't come up until after 8! Also a bit worried that if I push it now I'll be out of action in January again, which would suck! |

A target is just that something to aim for but we all have to know when it’s time to call it a day. Just plug away what you can there’s always next year. I would like a revised target of 1300 but that’s also out the window. I’m at 1270 I’ll see where I get too. |

Well done Steeley and welcome. That's a shame EdGreig. Hopefully January is a better month. I have pushed it on the 31st more than once to get the target. I really hope you feel better soon LL and GG. The coldy bug seems to be everywhere at the moment. Good news about getting a date for your op GG and it fits in nicely for you. It was very mild here today too. A run done this morning and nice loop that I do regularly with some friends and then a family walk this afternoon. We are all tired and ready for Santa to arrive. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all have an enjoyable day. Will update the thread on Hogmanay for 2025, can't believe it's almost here already. |

That's great Steeley, 1000 with days to spare. Welcome to the thread too, good to have another target chaser to read about. Today I'm only a "maybe" for 2025. You've done plenty of miles regardless EdG. Tisnt the week or even the season to be stretching it for the sake of it and risking injury or something. Thanks in advance for your admin input Lesley and look forward to at least reading about stuff here during 2025. |

Disappointing to miss targets EdG & gg but, as others have said, you’ve both done great mileage (probably more than you would have done if you hadn’t set a target in the first place) and it’s better to tap out than burn out. You want to start the New Year feeling motivated and energised. That’ll be much more productive than than hitting an arbitrary number Having said that I shall be completely hypocritical 😂 10 miles today leaving 27 to reach 1000. So I reckon I can have a couple of days off for Christmas and still get there. |

I forgot to post this morning, and haven't got the time now to respond to all your posts since my last one. Welcome to the thread Steeley, and well done for exceeding the 1,000 with days to spare. I hope that you will be a regular contributor. I ran a solo 7k this morning on roads, and will be doing the Southampton parkrun in the morning. This thread is very inspiring for all of us, and I'm looking forward to 2025, and another years running, God willing 🙏 Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year 😊 🎄🎅 |

Merry Christmas everyone ❤️ We are doing the Lymington parkrun this morning instead of Southampton. 🎅🎄 |
