Welcome to the new folk! Good to see everyone getting their miles in. I had a week off as I went to a work conference and came back with Covid. That'll be four times so far in the past three years. I seem to pick it up really quickly, I suppose it's the downside of permanently working from home. I only ever see people outdoors, I'm very rarely indoors with people. I'm back as of this week with 19km so far. No rest for the wicked. |

Thanks Lesley, see below re dental experience. I hope last night's run with the club went well? Well done Duba for this early morning 4 miles. Well done Donnie for your two runs. I have a dental plan Steve which covers two routine dental and hygienist appointments per annum. Additional treatment costs are discounted by 20%. We were given the option several years ago to 'go private', or find another Practice. Well done for this mornings run/walk with Torey. Well done LL for todays Supersets. I'm sorry to hear duo that you have caught Covid for the 4th time ☹️. Have you had all the possible jabs? Well done for your 19k so far this week. This mornings run with the Wednesday Group was 4.28 miles, including 5 x 100 metres, 5 x 200 metres with 30 seconds recoveries and 4 x 400 metres with 60 seconds recoveries on grass. Total mileage includes run out and back. |

I meant to mention that I had to make another dental appointment to have two fillings. Yesterday's appointment was for 3.30 which couldn't have been at a worse time, as the schools were 'turning out' and the road was crammed with drivers collecting their children. In my school days in the very dim and distant past, we either cycled or caught a bus to school. 😁

I have HS. I must just be susceptible to it. I grew up next to small village school that's now oversubscribed due to new developments increasing the size of the area. My mum counts down to the school holidays as it's chaos during term time. I'm in Scotland so a week on Friday is their finish date |

Covid 4 times duo, you’re unlucky, I caught it for the first time in January, son home from uni and gave us all Covid for first time, wasn’t fun. He’s back today for 10 days hope he doesn’t bring anything with him. Out at 6 for 4.68, temps low 30s and quite pleasant YTD 627.16 miles |

We have a similar dental plan hs, and like you it was sign up or find another dentist! (Where?!!). Good interval session again hs, I'm getting more envious and cheesed off this week. I can barely run a single 200 metres let alone repeat! Can't do anything about it but be patient, if nothing changes I'll just carry on at this low level of activity. Indeed bikes and buses were the general form of transport for school up until the early 70's. We often raced the two miles home sometimes on foot, sometimes on bikes so that "bus money" could be kept for other things! Duo, most people on this thread know that I've had COVID three times....wife too. She doesn't have the long COVID I've been fed up with for three years. I've been lucky to have every scan and stress test on the NHS and why I'm on this medication to see if it works. Twenty days in and no positive effect....yet. Another forty on this trial. Whoopee, I see I'm on 500 miles so expect to do better than last year.4.25 miles this morning on roads... with some dastardly hills😂.Good job I only run/walk!! |

Well done Dubairunner for this early morning 4.68 miles. Well done Steve for your 500 miles and this mornings 4.25 miles on roads. This morning was a very easy pace solo 4 miles on roads, saving myself for Sundays 10k road race. Last year it was on the hottest day of the year, and is forecast 25 degrees this time 🥵 I've run 100k so far this year. |

So much activity here!! Well done all. So glad you RW now Fetchies are feeling welcomed, it is a great website and esp the 1000 thread Well done on the half Lesley esp in the rain, hardcore! TT how did you get on yesterday? Beautiful pictures Jack, it really shows why running is so magical. Nice to see you back Peter and building up is going well. Solstice run sounds fab Lesley esp in your part of the world, my club friends have done solstice swims in the past, they've posted they're doing one tomorrow but do I want to get up at 3am? Sorry to hear about the covid infection duo, hope you are fully recovered. If your susceptible to it I guess it will be hard to avoid it if its close by. I have had it once, although I am still convinced I had it in December 2019/Jan 20. Steve, hs, great continued running for you, hope your more recent runs have been decent Loo and I will also say well done to everyone else, apologies for the lack of personalised well done's. Dubai runner I lived in Oman for 7months and love the knowledge of the sunny days, but it is tough esp at this time of year in the heat so well done. I def miss the Oman days. School drop offs even in the '80's we were mortified if we had to get dropped off, we generally walked when we were at primary school in our local town (1.5-2m) or got the bus when we went to secondary school first 2yrs was much further out but once back in town again often walked if we could. So me this week I was in Glasgow Monday / Tuesday for work, arrived later than planned but managed to tick a run along the Clyde off, literally only 1.3m as we were meeting for dinner but it was nice all the same. Tuesday I planned to run early but a couple of us went for 'a post dinner drink' and got back to hotel at 1am! Rubbish sleep so when I finally dropped back off to sleep at 4.55 ish I figured I wouldnt run unless I woke at 6 but I slept like a log until 6.45 when I need to get ready to meet for breakfast. Couple of double run days since and a busy weekend so wont be any long runs. Debating whether it is time to go solo on the training plan again I've loved being coached (aka told daily what I need to do) but it is expensive and beyond the events I've got coming up where I am confident of completing I feel my place could be used by someone looking for specific training (which is why I signed up with Kazy to get me to Jordan which she did with great success) Anyway best get back to conference planning.... I'll try to keep up. |

I think you mean 100k this month @hillstrider Well done @steve45 keep getting out plodding. Well done @duo and hope you're much better now. Nice to see new folk on the thread. A 6am start and 30° doesn't sound pleasant to me @ A rather warm 9+ miles for me this morning and around half was off road, not the best of surfaces any of them but more blue circles gained. |

Cross post @geordiegirl. Well done for your runs and I hope you enjoy your run with your mam at lunchtime. It makes sense to stop paying for a training plan if you're not training for anything specific currently. You did amazingly well in Jordan off the little running you did for back to back marathons.
