Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

This morning I did an easy paced 4 mile run from home. I won't be running tomorrow, so Thursday will be my next 'outing'. I anticipate that I shall finish the year just short of 700 miles, having had 9 weeks off in January - March with my last bout of injury. [In June 2017 I had PF, and after that had healed, I had 2 or 3 periods with Achilles problems until mid March this year, so I'm rather relieved at being injury-free for 9 months now!]

I hope that you all manage to have as injury-free a 2020 as possible. Meanwhile have a great Christmas all of you.

Yeah...I echo Mmm on the fine performances by everyone during 2019.
My Christmas Day run was a shocker! I had a stitch for the first time in many years and struggled to complete just two miles! Still...I ran.

This morning just before breakfast I went for a Long Run from home, the first 2.38ml. with my wife at a leisurely pace before she turned back for home, then I went a little faster to the end. That puts me on 685 miles; I might reach 700 by the 31st, or nearly! I think it's still too ambitious for me to attempt 1000 miles next year, but hopefully a few more than this year.

Steve, just like you I don't get stitch these days; I get plenty of other niggles though. I have to be careful what I eat before a run, or else I'm plagued by indigestion etc. In your case, could the stitch be food-related - a Christmas Day thing?

Phew, I just checked to see how far off 1000 I was and my jam on toast isn’t unwarranted 😀
I’ll upload my runs later.
Hooray target met, what was all the fuss about? ;-)

Tuck into that sandwich FF! Great stuff.
Yes hillstrider, I think running following my Christmas dinner--even though several hours later was an error, but I wanted to have a run out with my wife. I always run better on an empty stomach and what I've got used to doing early morning runs usually.
What a miserable morning out there today though, low cloud, mizzle and damp everywhere. Four miles was enough for what I wanted!
