Forest Runner Disappointing time - exactly the same as Bracknell last week. It was supposed to be about 2 minutes quicker. I just can't seem to go any faster at the moment, although I wouldn't have any problem running a lot further.

Puffing Bertie Tried my hardest but a PB was not to be, sorry if you bet on me :-(

Great race though (now that it's finished!) but I think I liked the pub best :-)

Thanks H for coming back to get me, and you lot that all cheered me on made me feel very special :-)

Hollywoof! Started with ixus123 but soon lost him (he's far too fast - well done!)

Had a few chats with peeps around the course - excellent to see Fat Face, Stumpy2-back-in-action, Hanneke, Cookie and XFR Bear around the course - thanks for the cheers (and the choc muffin too!)

Spent several miles trading places with a certain Ranelagh runner - a new nemesis - I'd ran within 30m of him the whole way round Thames Towpath Ten last month - but he dropped me during a bad patch coming back from Hampton Court to Kingston.

Was really impressed to get to 5 miles in 35:30. Felt OK :-) But then had a really bad patch coming back from half way (Hampton Court to Kingston) - don't know if it was caused by mental or physical memory from last week's marafun, but I just couldn't maintain my speed... Kicked myself out of it briefly at 10 miles as I got a new 10 mile PB (by 7 seconds) - also knew at that point that an HM PB was probable if I could just keep going...

Miles 11 and 12 were hard again - I hate running through housing estates...

Mile 13 - lucky lucky me... this race ended along Riverside Drive... which is where I've been running the club speed training sessions - mentally this was a big plus - I was used to it hurting along this road ;-)

And that last .1 was also hard... but 1:35:02 watch time was nice - new PB by 1 minute 50 :-)

Horribly erratic and positive splits (according to the sign posts - I wasn't packing a Garmin)

Then back along the course to cheer home some of the other runners - spotted and gave suitably noisy grief to Shiraz, GregW, LL, Kath, Sezz, Puff, mava and that sprinting smoker person.

Kieren My race report - well things went a lot better than expected. I was warmed up nicely from the cycle down but think I went off a bit too fast as by mile 4 I could really feel the burn in my legs & thought I might have to walk. I slowed down & the legs seemed to get better.

About mile 9 / 10 the cold flushes / shivers started - not sure what that phenomenon is - runners high?

Didn't finish as strong as I would have liked. I don't seem to be good at judging how far that last .1 of a mile is. I was staggering around like a drunk on the finish line though so I know there can't have been much juice left in the tank.

Especially nice meeting Hollywood - just so positive - he's the man to see to motivate you pre race.

Max71 Yes I'm hoping for a PB, however I've not run this week and dont know if I'll be able to get out for a run. Everyone claims it's a PB course.

I've changed my mind, I'm not hoping gor a PB I'm gonna get a PB. I've even bet on myself

YEAH YEAH!! PB By over 8 minutes in a month. Chuffed to bits.

Spilts were 12.55, 11.10, 11.24, 11.17, 11.31, 12.05, 11.08, 12.03, 11.22, 11.29, 12.18, 11.14, 8.13 and 8.07.

The 8 minute miles came about because I had Hollywood pacing and shouting at me.

sango felt good until 3 miles tore calf muscle, walked for a while and then decided it was to far to walk back so continued race! Suffering for it now though! crutches and strong pain killers from local A+E will rest and then see physio!thought the course was well suited for a PB!!

TingTong Given the right conditions, this is a fast course, might just manage a PB. Excellent course and conditions for a fast run, disapointed faded last two miles, otherwise very content.
