contraflow Hardest Half Marathon I've done. Lots of steep hills and hot too. Great organisation and support from locals.

Running Caz Potters Arf - stood at start line in the heat and seriously thought about dropping out. Was sooo hot already, done no distance for months etc etc but Rich persuaded me to stick with it. Started feeling ok but was finding it hard already at mile 3. However, something happened and for the rest of the run I quite enjoyed myself. The hills added variety and actually quite enjoyed running around all the council estates!!?!?! Great support I felt and I felt very strong steadily making my way through the field and passing people who had started walking. Some very tough inclines but ran them all, other than the rediculous one at mile 12!! Felt pretty good even at the end and must admit was a little disappointed to see 1:54 on the clock as I had felt so good and strong on the second half. Either way, at the start I was doubting sub2 cos of heat and my head so am happy with my time in such heat and on quite a challenging course :-)

Scott S A lot warmed than I have run in before and it didn't overly help me. The hills were also steeper than anything I run before so had to walk some bits of them which lost me time. Going to do some hill work I think and maybe practice more when it's hotter rather than going out when it's around 12-15C tops in the morning.

sebby Bit hot but enjoyed running with my friend. I think she kept me going up the hills. Not a PB but 2nd faster time so quite pleased.

Siggers Very warm day again, however, I exceeded my target which due to the conditions I am really pleased about, the hills are still beastly, and will always be! I always figured that this race runs about 10mins slower than actual time, based on previous results, so I'll have to revise that figure or potentially I am quicker than my last half marathon time, I know which one I'm oing for!!!!!

Spotty Dog Could I just possibly edge under 02:00:00 this year and grab a gong.... hummmmmmmm (With that hill your having a laugh). UPDATE Well Blow me down, I have no idea how I did it but somehow I not only got under the 02:00:00 mark but got a PB to boot.

Striderdan Tough. Hilly & Hot. Great race though. Well organised and great support on the route. Offered jelly babies, ice pops, drinks and showers by the spectators. Will probably do it again if I can forget the hills by next year. Had to walk up the last one!
