Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Paul W Another PB - and quite a big one. Over a minute off previous best time. Wasn't sure I could do a fast time. I'd missed over a week's training because of a calf strain and was down on my mileage. Also, went on a celebration meal for Ryan's Kathryn's new job night before at Uncle Sams, so didn't eat healthily. Had porridge at 6.30, a gel 20 mins before race and some foul new energy drink just before race. Wanted to try to average 7.30 all way round. Set off with Ben but he dropped back after a couple of miles. Good flat course and manged to get it down to 7.25 pace. Missed drinks station when I was on top of it before I realised and didn't want to go back for it. Found it a bit hard work towards end, especially slight uphill to finish over cobblestones into castle, but finished feeling ok. Reckon I could probably have gone a bit faster. Finished 767/4161, 62/513 in age group.

Hanvet Wow! Forgot my Garmin so figured I'd just run as I felt. Had a stitch about 3K in, then hit 5K at 29.39 which made me think I was slow. Then realised about five minutes later that given it was such a big race I'd taken ages to pass the start, so then figured maybe I wasn't too bad after all. Felt like I was going backwards for the last klick or so, and the finish was hard given I didn't know where it was and you couldn't see it coming. And it was uphill at the end so was really struggling but then went over the line at 57.07 gun time which was a PB before allowing for chip time which cheered me up. Shame about the hour and a half wait to get out of the car park at the end!

Purple Green Imp Just glad to get round after a long time out of action and wasn't really fully prepared for this one. Just took the attitude that I would just get round and enjoy the atmosphere of the event. Having done that succesfully I'm pleased with a time that isn't too much slower than what I was doing last year.
