gderoux Chris Hoy said about the kilo (4 laps of a velodrome) to go out faster than you think you should then just hold on until the end. I applied this strategy to the mile today and it paid off. I'm really pleased with my time and the best thing is that the conditions were so bad, I can probably go faster.

Lapsed Athlete I'm determined to get sub 8.30 after my last effort. Don't know how I managed to get 8.18 as I've felt lousy most of the week and didn't feel great whilst running but heh if I can get that when I'm not on form what can I do when I am ..... we'll hopefully see in YFM 3 :-)

TooLilac yay - PB at the Yorkshire mile !!! great run with lots of Lovely Fetchies. Lovely to meet so many and put some faces to names. Torrential rain and biting wind. nice cake though. kids had a great time too. Very well organised day, many many thanks to HLS.
