Dannyboy01 Not a good run at all. Started struggling at around 5 miles and then it all went pear shaped around 8 miles and a bit of walking followed. I put it down to lack of meaningful training in March and setting off a little bit too fast. Third time out on this one and although it's not the slowest by a long way was hoping for a much better run and didn't enjoy much of it at all.

Lisrun First time for this one. I have heard its undulating. Should be good fun ! *Update* Reminded me very much of Windermere. Determined to stick to 10 minute miles which I did until 12m and then I let go. Beautiful scenery

Mushroom Not sure I was going to make the start. Last run 2 weeks ago, followed by a stonking cold. Thought the worst had passed and that I could use it as a training run. Bit nervous at start, but felt okay going round, just taking it steady. Actually ended up with my best time yet by over 3minutes..! Now disappointed as I was planning to aim for sub 2hrs and I'm sure I would have succeeded without the layoff. Maybe next year!

PJL Added a new copy of last year's race because I want my PB to count. And I *will* get a PB! (*disclaimer*: if I'm fit) Going for 7 - 7.5 min miles for the first half, then see how I feel about 'attacking' the big hill at mile 11. First half went to plan: passed 7-mile mark at around 52 mins. But then the effects of last week's chest infection kicked in, together with legs that weren't as fresh as I'd hoped for after nearly 2 weeks rest. Malfunctioning HR monitor didn't help either, indicating a drastic drop in HR from about 8 miles that made me wonder if I was about to keel over! Struggled to average 8-min miles for the second half, finishing with a dramatic sprint finish against a very young-looking V45(!). 317th out of 1303. Back next year for another try at 1:45.

Superwoman Coniston 14. Excellent race, really enjoyed it, amazing scenery. First half was easier, bit of a head wind coming round the Lake after 7miles. The hill at approx 12miles was evil and I almost walked as I was tired at that stage, but I pesevered and kept going. Bring it on again next year!
