Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

Thanks, not sure I can get past the 'salty balls' name and I don't like peanut butter but the 'breakaway bar' one looks good :-) .

In the context of 4h on a bike, I have trouble thinking of anything as unhealthy. If it was very regular event, dental issues might be worth considering.

I generally have a single gel towards the end of races much over an hour. And stopped for mine pies and a cup of tea in the middle of 4 horsemen ;-)

Can you explain the rule to me JDA? If you CnBA I understand!

I eat the stuff that we notionally buy for my son that are made by Fruit Bowl. I like School Bars and Peelers. I’m sure they are full of sugar but they at least alledge to be fruit based!

It’s just that the FTP estimate arising from 95% of your 20 min power has to exceed both 4.0W/kg *and* 250W in order to be rated A.

So a skinny 50kg midget (not looking at anyone in particular) can do 20 mins uphill at 5.2w/kg which is 260w and their FTP estimate is still inside B cat parameters whereas us normal-sized humans get upgraded if we go over 4.2W/kg. And depending on the event rules we may actually get disqualified if we manage to cling on to your, sorry their, wheel :-)

<lurker>Thanks for the recipe Yorkshire Pie, that looks a lot like the old Trek bars I used to eat on longer rides, that I can no longer find in my local supermarket</lurker>

Just got my young lad reinstated on Zwift. He’s grown again. 180cm/55½kg...!!

He had a wee shot on my profile last week, just to see what it was like to be short & fat. Very funny :)

Looks like there is a badge hunters PRL ride tomorrow - tempted.

Plain pasta for me these days on longer rides, though not sure it would be practical for RL biking.
