I think i'm going to blog about Zwift experiences and club stiff and cycling in general, but, am I weird having no desire to race at all?

I'm sure there are loads of Zwifters that don't race at all lammo and some like me that are only occasional racers.

Totally, the Herd is full of people who just ride

I know when the world returns to some part of normal my racing will drop off as I head back outside.

I've done 28 races and I have a 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd but no 1st!

Most of them have been races with my Tri club though so it's easier to sign up the week before and then you're committed.

I expect at the moment it somewhat reflects the club scene, and to some extent the sportive scene; a small proportion racing semi-seriously, lots doing steady social rides with occasional impromptu hit-outs, and quite a few doing Fondos etc, falling somewhere in between. There may just be a few more giving racing a go on Zwift, as it's slightly more accessible and less prone to painful offs than on the road.

It'll be interesting to see if the profile remains the same when things tend back towards normal.

I don't race much Lammo. Entered a series back in the late Autumn but ended up missing too many races to get an overall result. I enjoyed the ones I did, even though I was quite near to the back.

I mostly do it for a bit of social and to keep fit.

I was on Zwift for 4 years, and didn’t race or do group rides. Tried both early and didn’t like it.

I did my training sessions by building the required custom workouts and had scenery to look at while the program guided me through the workout.

Only really dived into racing, teams and social side since Covid and influence of Gobi. I am getting much more out of it now, and progressing nicely.

I did my Cat C race last night and a few from my club jumped in and I really enjoyed it.

Can I check my understanding of ZwiftPower?

I know I am around the boundary of Cat C and Cat B, and last night's effort I averaged 3.4W/KG on ZwiftPower which I believe is Cat B, but I wasn't DQ'd. I'm not complaining about that(!), but is this because my previous 2 results on ZP are 3.1 and 2.9, so the average of those three is 3.1, which is just about Cat C? ZP uses the average of the last 3 events and allows a 0.1 leeway - is that correct?

I was still nowhere near winning Cat C though, finishing in 31/130 on ZP, but when I scan down the results my 3.4 does stand out as high in comparison to most of the others. Oh, and my prediction of managing 200-300m sprint at the end? That turned out to be wrong! It was my full intention to do that, but I was done and think I managed about 5-secs before sitting back down again...

What would you do now though? Would you move up and just be resigned to the fact that I'll be at (or off?) the back at Cat B in races? I think for group rides I'll just stick with Cat C as I feel I'm about right in those and they're not "races" anyway (although I know they're on ZP). If I do that on group rides though, that will screw up the averages won't it, but I don't know how to overcome that; is there a way to remove events that aren't races from ZP?
