Interesting Baronnes. There have been a lot of aerial dog-fights (lol) this spring between buzzards, crows and red kites which all seem to be hunting each other's chicks.
On the basis that most of the 'eagle stole my baby' stories are apparently exaggerated I didn't think a buzzard would try to predate a 10kg dog, but wondered whether it saw Jet as a potential threat to its own young? What do you think?

Pet plan here. Always paid out with no fuss and we have probably got our money back too.
We woke up yesterday morning to find a spot or two of blood on their bed and a very fat tick that had pearly gorged itself then released. The tick is no more and disappeared down the plug hole.

I think its probably unlikely H he is too big but they may try something his size as carrion. it was probably interested in what Jet was disturbing that maybe you could not see? They mainly eat mice and small birds etc as well as any carrion they can find.

Good thinking D2. That would make sense as the bunnies were sprinting for cover and probably smaller stuff too.
I can't remember if I mentioned it but last week there was a field being harvested (grass) and the buzzards, red kites and even one gull were following the tractor and patrolling the cut rows, swooping just a few feet above the ground. Presumably after the buffet that was being scattered by the mower blades.

Helegant. I haven't seen our buzzards much this spring - they usually wheel and mew very noticeably above our house.

Mr and Jet are home again and both seem fine - Jet seems to have a knack for finding trouble and is currently asleep on Mr with his nose deep inside one of my shoes. Mr is snoozing without the benefit of homely whiffs

Impatiently awaiting the announcement of the new arrival... have you got him yet D2?
We've had a doggy weekend. It was the Village Dog Show on Saturday, Charlie won 2 rosettes, 3rd place Waggiest Tail (he couldn't compete with the winner, I've never seen such a waggy tail! Bt he should have been 2nd ) and 4th place in the Puppy Class. Then yesterday we went to the Bowood Dog Show to see how the professionals do it. Lots of good displays from sheep dog trials to ferret racing, spoilt slightly by torrential rain which meant most people had gone home by 2pm. At least we got a good view!
