Thanks Helegant - I don't think we are at 'dangerous' levels! Clearly the previous incidents of induced vomiting have taught her nothing!

The late-night counter surfing in the kitchen has just taken place (to no avail) so if there is a tummy-ache it can't be *that* bad!

Fortunately the toxic ingredients tend to be expensive (cacao, xylitol) so a dog who scoffs the cheap goodies is safest!

Xylitol has a 'cool' mouthfeel so would tend to be found in mints and that sort of confectionary rather than cakes, biscuits and chocolate. It's cost limits it's use which is a negative for dentists as it helps inhibit decay causing mouth bacteria.

Sam's old Greyhound once managed to consume a couple of the giant Toblerones one can only get at airports, and seemed to experience no Ill effects whatsoever 😐
Another time he had a whole bag of individually wrapped Daim pieces. Other than pooping wrappers for a couple of days, he was fine.
He was a beast of a hound, though, at least 27kgs.
As others have said, the amount that's dangerous in a single dose is quite high, though low levels consumed often are also pretty bad.

Luckily after those two, separate, incidents, we got more cunning in hiding things from him - the Toblerones had been on top of a bookcase well above my head height, but the mad dog had climbed onto the dining table, after breaking through two or three closed doors while we were out.

Another time he had the raw wheat out of a microwaveable wheat bag thing. That stopped him up something awful, but the delay between action and consequence was long enough that he didnt understand the connection and immediately after getting back from the vet he went straight to the bin to try and have another go at it.

Wanda seems a little subdued this morning but otherwise back to normal - she's eaten her breakfast with her usual enthusiasm and everything also appears fine at the other end too!

Phew!

Monty managed to find a leg bone of some creature in the park yesterday (suspect it may have been feline). I chased him all round the park trying to get it off him. He wasn’t giving it up for anything! Managed to get one piece of it (which I binned). Eventually he got distracted by another dog and I was able to grab him and with the help of that dog’s owner get the rest off him. I think he did eat some of it but seemed fine last night.

He was on lead for most of his walk today!
