I'm hoping that all recent poorly dogs are now feeling better.

Charlie had another post op check up yesterday. His eye is still swollen and sore, in part because his upper eyelid is turning in on itself so the lashes are irritating his eye. He's been given some more medication (£££) and has to go back tomorrow to see if it's having any effect.

The hardest bit for me is keeping his cone on. He desperately wants to scratch/rub the eye but mustn't. He worked out how to get the cone off very quickly so now I feel I've got to monitor him all the time! Worst time is overnight - I'm not sleeping as I keep thinking I can hear him wrestling his way out of it! :-)

Wanda has been trying to scratch at her cone a bit but is reasonably good about it considering that the scar/stitches are probably quite itchy. She decided a few nights ago that she was going to sleep in her usual night time bed rather than the bigger bed that was by the sofa where one of us had slept next to her as the cone is now pliable enough for her to curl up in a ball to sleep and she's clearly feeling more comfortable and 'normal' with it.
She is due to have her stitches out tomorrow. I think she'll probably still need to wear the cone for a couple of days after that and I don't know if she'll need more medication again (she is off all meds at the moment). She really wants to go out for a walk so hopefully that will be allowed again soon. We weren't supposed to walk her until after tomorrow but the vet did say if she was getting too lively in the house then a very short walk outside to break up the boredom would be OK from day 10/11 which was the weekend just gone.

Hopefully the vet will be pleased with the way everything has gone.. fingers crossed here and fingers crossed still for Charlie too.

Hope Charlie and Indi 'turn the corner' in their recovery soon xx

Good news re Wanda though!

Flossie sends her love to you all. I think the look on her face says 'You just can't get the staff - this garden is a mess!'

Charlie saw the vet yesterday who is pleased with the difference that 2 days worth of antibiotics/steroids has made. He’s to keep up the 5 times a day medication and cone wearing until he goes for another check up on Saturday. Lab results show the growth to be benign so that’s something.
Meanwhile, after Monday’s antics, Charlie now has a note on his file that basically says “don’t let his mum anywhere near the consultancy room if a medical procedure is going to take place”! I’m to stay in the waiting room in future and a nurse will collect him and take him in. I feel a right idiot.

Good to hear Charlie's results, I'm sure he will continue to improve, not sure about his mum ;)
