Albie pup and I visited the GNR finish for a short while.

I’d love to run with him but he’s still a bit too excitable (would jump up and mouth on me) and I’m not sure how to train him. I’m sure we’ll be able to at some point.

Thanks everyone, I saw that page Pen and that's what confused things as noone seems to really know and there's not actually much evidence. Just not going to take any chances.

Albie is booked into dog boarding.

I hadn’t put it all together but the stand in dog walker who recommended the place had already taken him there as they have 2 secure fields so he already knew the lady and the place and just wanted to go into the big field 😆

I was very reassured that she seemed chilled about him being a chewer, chasing things (she said “he’s a sight hound, I’d expect it”) and being a bit socially inappropriate with other dogs (“normal at his age”) and seemed confident she could handle him. He’ll have lots of opportunities to run about safely with other dogs (which he loves).

So now I can go to France to visit my parents who I haven’t seen for 21 months. They have a whippet who is a similar age to Albie. It will be lovely to meet her.

Arlo stayed with BiL and his partner for the weekend as we were at a wedding. He bit BiLs partner. Was fine back with us last night. Think lots of factors but caused a lot of upset from my partner last night though (think it's a culmination of things rather than just about arlo though as it's been a very emotional few weeks).

Hoping it's just a blip and is more because we know him better so know exactly when to do what etc of he is getting on edge and they don't deal.with him daily as he hasn't bitten us (barely a growl) in several months now.

Hmm. Unpredictable dog tonight. I think Jet's eaten 'something' again. I didn't see him pick up anything on our walk but he made it clear that he didn't want to run or chase things, which is unusual.

He's been sitting on my lap demanding attention, then growling at me, then being obsequious as if he knows that's not OK. He can't decide whether he wants to sit on me or lie on the floor (unusual). And why does he always do this at a weekend?

Jet seems to want my help, but also to be a bit delicate and wary.

Sometimes I wish I could speak dog. Sigh...

If history is any predictor he'll be fine tomorrow and I'll never know what was wrong.
