Haha excellent picture.
Shyfire, really sorry to hear that. I'm constantly paranoid about hip displaysia so I hope you get some good results from the scans and it isn't as bad as feared.

I hope you get some helpful answers Shyfire!
Albie went out with my friend (meeting up with his mum for a walk) this afternoon. I got around 3 hours to myself which was lovely (it was a 30 min drive each way and he coped amazingly well with the car, then a short walk and some standing/chatting with flasks of coffee). He’s exhausted and was ready to drop but then I started cooking and he decided it was for him 🤦♀️ Cue some whining/crying.
I’m now upstairs with a glass of wine to let him settle in the pen whilst dinner cooks. I so need some doors between the living room and kitchen (it’s all open plan). He settles more easily when I’m not there to cry to!
Hopefully when I creep downstairs, dinner won’t be burned and Albie will have settled 🤞🤞
I realise we need to work on the “presence doesn’t mean access” and he finds it harder when he can see me.
On Tuesday he’s going to the dog walker for a trial overnight stay 😊 She’s planning to let him “help” her with building her new greenhouse. 😂 Good luck with that! She’ll also observe how he does and see if she has any ideas.

That's great news Pen. And seems some progress is being made. We are unfortunately at a point where we can't just nip upstairs and leave arlo downstairs. Started scratching the carpet up and caught him trying to chew the table for the first time. So unless he is in his pen, he isn't left.

Cookie has hip dysplasia which was diagnosed when he was under 12 months old. No I’ll effects until 2018 and we put him permanently on metacam. We think he’s developed arthritis in the joint as a result. Combined with Yumove he’s been fine since we got the balance right.
Prior to the metacam being used permanently the only thing we couldn’t really do with him was go running. He could do about a mile then want to stop. It just general running round he is fine with. Since Phoebe has been having hydrotherapy for her hind leg, he’s been joining in her daily stretches and exercises and seems to be doing well with them. The main thing we’ve noticed is that he can get his right leg a lot higher when going for a wee. It’s not necessarily going to be a bad thing, longterm, if it can be managed.

Sounds like you're managing it really well Dave. Do you use regular Yumove or have you gone onto the one for senior dogs. I'm guessing Wanda will move onto the senior version at some point but am not sure when.
Glad you're making progress with Albie, Pen.
I cleared out our understairs cupboard today. Wanda is always interested when either of us go to the cupboard because getting a coat out (especially in the pandemic) is a good indication that a walk is about to happen and also we keep the supplies of dog food in there. However once the floor was completely cleared and hoovered I couldn't get her out of there, she was straight in there and sitting down (it has carpet in there which helps as we have a lot of hard floors otherwise which she is less keen on). It's making me think that when we move, under the stairs might become a nice safe space for her bed etc. Neither of us can actually remember what access to under the stairs there is in the new house but I'm sure there'll be something!
