Oh Pen, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re still struggling so badly. It sounds completely miserable. Please don’t feel guilty about rehoming - you won’t be the first person to have done so! It’s so difficult when you’re trying to do everything on your own.

There comes a point when you’ve got to put yourself first. God knows you’ve tried your hardest and given it your best shot :-( xx

Last weekend we had 2 late nights in a row. I don’t think I’ve done that since I was about 21.
I think my last late night was NYE.
We’ve been tired all week as a result, plus I’m on early shift all week. Last night was early to bed for hopefully an extra 1/2 hour or so of sleep.
Unfortunately a combination of blustery weather making horrible noises against the house, plus Cookie being freaked out by the noises, put an end to that.
I’m reality we should have just left him to settle. But they’re 8 and 9, unless they have a significant event I don’t think we’re going to ruin their behaviour by letting them up for the night.

The sleep I had was good, I just had to wake up and move Phoebe twice.

We are moving house today. Chester has been barking his head off at the removal men but he is doing pretty well really. Bit nervous for his first night in the new house though- especially as for the first time he is going to be downstairs and we will be upstairs at night.

Exciting times! We are moving in a couple of weeks too M-N and are worried about how Wanda will adapt to the new house.... and particularly where we will leave her when we go out - and how we get her used to being left somewhere different but understanding that we will come back. Good luck and do share any tips etc here. Fortunately we have the opportunity to spend a night or two before and after (if we need it) the actual moving day elsewhere so it will be possible for one of us to be elsewhere with her when the removal men arrive

Good luck with the house moves. Hope the dogs manage.

Food change is going well. On day 2 which is 50/50. Arlo loves the enw food and eats it immediately. His 💩 is already seeming to be better and its not a battle to get him to eat so hopefully he puts some weight on.

Also did an off lead run with him around the lake. 1.5miles total. He seemed to walk half of it though as was faster than me so kept having to wait for me 😂 but getting him used to running without the gear on.

What food did you change to in the end Roberto?

I’m not convinced Albie is on the best food - he has regular soft poos at the moment.

Millies wolfheart turkey and veg. I always thought you had to change over a few weeks, but they say only 4 days.

He usually has 4 💩s a morning with the first 2 great and then getting worse. The 4th is usually pretty bad. (Which is normal according to the vets the more they have). But this morning only had 3, and the 3rd one was as good as the 2nd one so improvement.

That’s interesting. Albie’s first poo is usually good then they get progressively worse. He usually has 2-3 in the morning and 2 or so in afternoon.

Chester is currently fast asleep in his crate downstairs so fingers crossed. Have the baby monitor set up and the stair gate installed!

Think it helps there is so much familiar stuff and furniture. He has done remarkably well. Hated us being upstairs at first and just barked and barked but that’s already improved. The stair gate is a godsend! Wouldn’t mind him upstairs so much but it’s no good for his wee dachshund back

Re house moves - good luck, first! But as you've possibly already found, Baroness, dogs seem to settle pretty quickly as long as they get their food and walks with their people. Floss settled very quickly on that basis when we started staying at our seaside house, anyway :-)
