Haha HP Ernie's got you sussed!
We've started giving Flossie Yu-Move, as mentioned on here by several people - it may be our imagination but we think it has made a noticeable difference. When she gets off the sofa after a post-walk snooze she's less stiff (the stiffness was only brief but noticeable before.)

Sharkie - it’s feeling a little better. Still hard work and I’m going to take a day, a week at a time. He can be so variable but definitely better than he was. It’s still hard to do the stuff I’d normally do and not at all easy on my own. But I’m sure he’s teaching me lots!

I do feel for you, Pen. You sounded despairing recently and it was hard to know what to say. I think 'you' and only you will know in your heart of hearts what the best thing to do is.
A day, a week at a time sounds good for now. x

Frankie chewed as a youngster - wooden drawer knobs and a solid oak coffee table leg . I can't remember exactly when he stopped but certainly since he was one (he's now coming up to 5 (I think! )) we've had no problems with him chewing things

Think arlo is developing some separation anxiety. From day one we started leaving him for short periods and even if I'm at the office all day, he is only left for max 3 hours at a time as the dog walker has him for about 2 hours. Never had issues and I tested it a lot by putting him in his pen while working in the lounge.
Yesterday he urinated twice in his pen. Today he has been barking, whining and trying to get out. We give him things to keep him busy and occupied but seems to have just flipped overnight.
Not sure what to do, as I'm expected back to work more often in the coming months.

Oh that sounds tough Roberto.
Could it be something acute as he’s mostly been ok e.g. not feeling himself, a fear period or something similar?
If you are concerned about separation anxiety - is it worth consulting a behaviourist to check that out. The one I saw said that people think it’s separation anxiety when it is not actually that. (I saw Sue from muttamorphosis - based in Newcastle).
The concepts that I’ve found helpful is to continuously work on “presence does not equal access” and working out what variables are difficult e.g. Albie finds settling in a pen harder when I’m close by and easier when he can’t see me but other dogs are the other way round.

I'm not sure. Could maybe be a water infection but he is generally all right toileting. And we are really careful about him eating stuff and chewing his toys etc.
We have been quite emotional recently as an immediate family member is unwell and my partner has been crying a lot, so that could have unsettled him as this weeks been tough. Also a slight change of routine yesterday morning, but that wouldn't explain today.
Going to monitor and at the vets on Tuesday already if needed.

One useful concept can be a dog’s stress bucket. Lots of things, good and bad, can fill it up e.g. some of the things you mention. And when it’s full, behaviour may be more likely to be erratic. And it takes time to empty. So maybe things that happened the day before can have an effect if several things have converged to fill his bucket. And dogs very much can pick up on subtle signs of our emotions.
(Think how lots of small things can mount up for us so that we can blow up at seemingly a small thing).
As you say probably monitor and see how things go.
Hope he settles down again quickly.
