Albie got a little anxious with all the ones going off at midnight. We were in bed by then (he was in his crate). He whimpered a bit but settled with reassurance.

We had someone set off 10 minutes of commercial sized fucking whoppers just over our back fence at midnight. Skye went abso-fucking-loutley ballistic and would NOT calm down. She's not scared at all...but wants to get them and KILL THEM DEAD by the sound of her. Not fun.

Partners clothes were hanging on the radiator. Arlo just went and cocked his leg and had a wee on them π€¦ββοΈ

Oh no Roberto π€¦ββοΈ
I dread to think what mischief Albie will come up with in the coming weeks and months.
Does anyone have any tips for getting harnesses and collars on when the pup just wants to bite them? π I try giving treats to distract or keep him busy but heβs getting wise to it.

If he is anything like Arlo, he is purposefully mischievous, as he looks at us before doing something to see if we are watching π
For arlos collar, we just put it on and left it on all day, especially at the beginning. Got him used to wearing it and meant we didn't have that battle. He doesn't wear it in the house now but doesn't mind us putting it on.
He doesn't like having his harness on but won't bite it, will just run away and make it difficult by lying down. Once on, he just accepts it.
But I'd try similar. Put them on and just leave them on In the house so he gets used to them.

They are expensive but a perfect fit harness has 4 clips so the section round the shoulders undoes completely as does the section under the belly so you never have to try to get it over their head. However I imagine for a puppy who is going to grow a lot bigger they may not be a great investment while they are still growing but they are the best harnesses we've ever used (and we went through a large number in the early days!)

I can also recommend perfect fit. As Charlie is small, we could replace just the section that he grew out of so not too much expense. Having said that, we donβt use a harness now as it encouraged him to constantly pull.

Skye used to bite her harness A LOT. I spent a lot of time just putting it down again and walking away. Then I'd try again. Rinse & repeat. Many times. She now sits beautifully to get her harness on as she REALLY wants to go for a walk. Took about two or three weeks to sort it. She also gets a treat for sitting nicely, letting us put it over her head, clip 1, clip 2... waiting etc... keep at it, you'll get there.

WLs approach sounds good - associate the harness with a walk, and be clear it's not going to happen until they cooperate

Our canine family just increased this morning - son1's second Labradoodle, Freya, arrived by specialist pet courier this morning (who knew there was such a job?) It had to be done that way because of tier restrictions; and they chose her via video link so today is the first time they've actually met her. (She's from the same breeder as their other dog, so a genuine, not a puppy farm, outfit). Her face is more Lab-like compared to their first and she looks very sweet.
