Sometimes a squeeky toy or tug toy works better than food.

OK, I am going to try taking her squeaky tuggy toy with me tomorrow!!

Wish me luck.

The toy she is OBSESSED with is her ball, but clearly that's not something for playing with near traffic. I hope the tuggy squeaky duck works.

This group is great :-)

I've never known a border collie that isn't ball obsessed lol. They are nuts!

Luna, although only 50% border collie gets distracted at just about everything. She now tries to herd birds in the sky - the downside of having the other 50% english setter!

We often look like loonies trying to be more interesting then anything else - it's hard work!

We have found the tug works best and we tuck it in the back of our belt so she can't see it and then produce it for those 'look how fun I am' moments!

A squeeky tug should be doubly effective - Good luck!

Boots too was obsessed with birds for a while too, made us wonder if he’d not seen them very often in his pre-rescue life.

Hey folks,
Thanks for the kind thoughts.
I stopped watching this thread a few days ago.

Whatever the kidney issue Ralph had back in March, which wasn't fully diagnosed due to the virus, started to cause him problems again a couple of weeks ago. We decided yesterday that he had now had enough.

The vet admitted that having reviewed his notes from March she was surprised he had been so well until now and that she didn't think anything we could have done then would have made much difference.

The house is very empty
