Echo what’s been said about scent games. We also scatter a handful of kibble into the garden for Boots to find, it keeps him occupied throughout the day. Hope you feel better soon x |

@Roberto I have just purchased some Protexin from amazon for Luna (to help her recover from antibiotics) and noticed a lot of the reviews say it helps stop anal gland issues i.e. having to have them emptied every 2 weeks etc. Not sure if it's something you might have tried but its available here: amazon.co.uk |

Will have a look, thanks. He had them done yesterday as was fishy and scooting at the end of last week and over the weekend. Vet said only one side was full and other empty, which is better than usual. Domt know why as nothings changed. |

Any tips for barking? Its really bothering my partner who is struggling to deal with it. He barks when he hears other dogs, sees anyone walking past (new build site so lots of builders), when next door are in their garden and when the doorbell goes. We try shaking treats and saying quiet which usually works. We used timeout for his biting and that worked, is it worth doing that? But the problem with that is getting him into his crate as he is bigger and doesnt like being physically moved. |

Ps, the sniffing games have been good. Hid lots of treats around the room and he understands it know and will search for them

Funnily enough we are having similar issues with biting & barking. Frustratingly, putting Skye in her cage for biting sets off a lot of loud barking. It's really hard.

I’ve heard a lot of people say they use a water spray for barking? Not sure what I think of that...

For the biting, a short timeout might work better. Rather than putting the dog away, get whoever is getting play bit to just get up and leave the room for 30 seconds or so. If she continues biting when they come back in, rinse and repeat. Barking wise is difficult other than getting the dog to see or hear more of what sets it off and distract. One tip for barking at doors is to stand with back to wall and knock on it whilst someone else distracts. Builders and people passing, just let them see as much as possible. We are in a new build ourselves but luckily our back garden looks out on to a playing field so Luna has just got used to seeing people over time. |

I would love a solution to stop the barking. Charlie barks at the slightest unexpected noise and is very tuned in to the garden gate catch going! He only barks at home, we rarely hear him when we’re out walking unless he sees a particular black Labrador that he’s sensitive to.
