Well all has been quiet today. They normally kick it out at around 6:30/7am and leave it out until 11am, then boot it back out again around 1pm for the rest of the day. They kicked it out a few months ago for an entire day and poor wee blighter barked himself hoarse. It was like listening to a different dog!

I can't stand the little shit, but he's bored to tears out there all day all by himself. I mean really, wtf get a dog if all you're going to do is lock the little beggar outside all day?

Platonic Spaniel love going on in my room this afternoon while I work in the office next door. Picture in the gallery. And yes, I do need a step in my bedroom so that I can close the fecking Velux window of an evening!

I’m almost more confused as to why it’s allowed in between 11 and 1. Are they out otherwise? Do they believe dogs should be outside??

I have absolutely no idea, but it's like clockwork! When they first moved in we thought the dog must have been kenneled outside, then realised his barking starts when Mr takes Mrs out for her early shift and kicks in again early afternoon. She also looks after the grandkids, so I suspect that might have something to with it. But, quite frankly, if the dog doesn't like the kids, train the dog and the kids so they can live together. FFS, it's not difficult!

Dog was booted out about 30 minutes ago and hasn't stopped barking since. It's not the dog's fault, he's clearly bored senseless and just wants company, as dogs do.

And I currently have a ginger nose telling me it time for walkies. Or possibly Spot eating time. Yes, he just fell in to my suitcase. Moron.

I found a firework shell on the patio, less than two feet from the back door. Others in the garden. Every night since last Friday there have been loud bangs, some very close.

Jet has shown once again that, much as he adores Mr, he comes to me for safety and protection. Bangs outside = Jet's head under my arm. No bangs = sprawled on Mr's lap.

I'm glad to know we each have our uses, but I wish the fireworks would stop.

It's funny, Stan does the same. He's a real sook for the blokes - loves 'dad' and my beloved boys when he wants to get away with murder, but the slightest hint of stress, he's got his nose in my armpit and looking for reassurance. I should clarify - I have "the boys":

Ollie (Cocker #1, also known as Poppers)
Stan (Collie, completely neurotic), we call him Spot on a good day, Stanley when he's in trouble, which is often
Buddy (Cocker #2, a rescue, also known as Ginge}

Beloved Boys are my son and his best mate. I don't think there's a brain cell to rub between them. The boys adore both of them though and both are very good for dog sitting duties when I need to work away.

Rory also likes to stick his head in my armpit. He came to the gym tonight. Normally he waits in the car, but I didn't want him on his own with fireworks potentially going off. I'm not sure he was a big fan of the gym, but he seems to have survived.
