I met the new puppy this morning. It was warm and cuddly and friendly, and I like dogs anyway, so I have nothing against it and wouldn't want it to come to any harm. That sadly is as far as it goes. The breed holds no appeal for me. Luckily Sprog thinks it is wonderful and cute, and she's the one who is house training it right now The good news is that it will only require one 10 minute walk a day, and apparently they are very placid and good with children. Which is more than can be said for a cocker spaniel puppy!

10 minutes? Really? I guess we all have different reasons for getting a dog but mine was partly to have a companion for long walks. Ernie is the perfect dog for us.

I reckon that 10 minutes is from the breeder and relates to the puppy. Accoridng to borrow my doggy they need around an hour a day.

Ah maybe the 10 minutes per month of age thing then. An hour isn’t much over 3 walks. Or is that just us?

Rule of thumb for pups is 5 mins for every month of their lives up to a year. Then whatever you want to give them and they can do. With that kind of dog just keep an eye on them for breathing and overheating.
