The only thing that bugs Ralph about fireworks is that he can't find the shot bird after the big bang! daft mutt.

Rory is very sniffy. There are pheasants and deer all over the place, causing him to lose his mind on a regular basis.
He’s not keen on fireworks, although he’s unfazed by shooting. I don’t know how he tells the difference.

Floss couldnt care less about fireworks, so much so we've taken her to the regatta fireworks at the seaside, and been complimented on our 'steady' dog. Which is odd, because at dog school she really didn't like the gun noises when we were doing gun dog exercises.

I've just got home and Mr has been in A&E after Jet bit him today. Mr has puncture wounds on the thigh and calf. Mr was dragging a reluctant dog out through the front door when Jet picked up one of my trainers and Mr tried to take it off him. When Jet gets possessive I play 'give' in return for a treat whereas Mr thinks Jet shouldn't be rewarded for giving up a trophy. He has now come round to my way of thinking, and to my suggestion that he doesn't push a stressed dog into a corner. I really hope this is a one-off.

Jet is sitting on me, panting, while fireworks expose outside. Apparently he also showed signs of anxiety over the last few days when I was away. He sometimes sleeps with his nose in my shoe.

A painful lesson for Mr H. Smiling to myself thinking of Jet with a head in a shoe. Ernie seeks out any items of clothing of mine to lie on - he spends much of the day on my bed apparently. I hate these bloody fireworks - why can't people just go to an organised display. Ernie started off woofing whilst looking out the window and almost wagging his tail and then ultimately looking a bit anxious. He's now crashed out as per his usual evening routine.

Oh dear stressed dog reacting in the only way he knows. Poor Jet.
(& I hope Mr isn't too sore - and that you get some calm and rest, you need it!)

Oh dear, Jet did try and explain first from the sound of it. It's all very stressful for dogs.
