Meanwhile, Jess is really going for it, reversing onto Geoff's leg at every opportunity.....

I've just taken Wanda to visit the kennels that we are planning to use as and when we need to kennel her. It may not be all that often but should we ever have no other option but to put her into kennels we want her to be able to go to somewhere she is used to. She was remarkably good walking around the grounds and didn't react to any of the other dogs (who were obviously all in pens etc so couldn't actually get to her.

She is booked in for a day visit next month when I will have to be out for much of the day for work (it will be an incentive for me to finish work in time to collect her at the end of the day!) and also for an overnight stay in July. There may be other days when she will go for a day too! This time next year we might even be able to consider a holiday somewhere!!!

Good that she was calm BBL. Indi is booked in for each wedding this year, he is not good at being left - loud apparently.

These kennels come highly recommended by the trainer we've been going to obedience classes with and asking around generally they seem to have a very good reputation. The receptionist on duty today owns a Staffy X Whippet (which is what we think Wanda may be) so that was a big plus point :-)

Hoping Wanda will settle there.

We tried a new game yesterday. I attached the slightly-stretchy lead to my bike and followed Mr around the Forest Centre. Jet ran so hard to catch Mr that he pulled my bike - for around 4.5 miles at a decent speed. We stopped twice to let him cool down and get a drink, and he slept very well afterwards :-)

Round our way they have races like that - it's called Bikejor I think - sounds like you and Jet would be pretty good at it. They do it with scooters too - I don't know if that is called scooterjor though :-)

It's slightly hazardous (potentially dangerous), but good fun. I've vaguely heard of bikejor - must go and google.

This was using Jet's collar, not even a harness, so the dog was busy choking himself as he ran, not that he seemed to mind. On once occasion I didn't tell Jet which side of a post to go and as I followed him he changed his mind at the last moment :-0 so we went on opposite sides. Luckily the bike has brakes!

Our previous agility class teacher used to do it with her dogs, mainly at events in Thetford Forest I think. The speeds with which they did 10k races were quite scary.

As always, the speed of the team is determined by the slowest member e.g. me :-)
