I may have another go sometime if I'm feeling more robust. I am quite literal (no pun intended) in the way I read and understand things so allegories and plot twists usually pass me by. It also means that I sort of "live" books which is probably why I had to stop reading Surface Detail. The Culture has seeped into my head and reality, so have found myself wishing or trying to gland calm during stressful events.
