At the moment I think I’d send a beginner female runner to M&S to get a big choice or sports bras they can try on or have professionally fitted (if that service is back again after covid) Their goodmove range of leggings and is very good and reasonably priced too - supermarket leggings and Ts are good too |

Some bargains at ReRun rerunclothing.org probably could get it done for £50 there

Get lots of my leggings from TKMaxx, often reduced further if you rummage. My Lidl leggings lasted me about 8 or 9 years. All my t-shirts are race t-shirts, longer sleeved tops tend to be either TKMaxx or Christmas gifts. |

My only "extravagance" is having decent shoes. I know that I pronate having done an gait analysis many moons ago. I have had Nike's, Asics, Mizuno Wave Inspire, and currently Hoka Clifton's. I never buy my shoes at premium rates. Rather I shop online for end of line stock or "last years model". Usually, I can pick something up for £75/£80. As for jackets, shirts, socks and shorts my OH gets me stuff for birthdays and Christmas. She is an inveterate bargain hunter, so picks up stuff mostly in Aldi (who sell Crane) or SportsDirect (Karrimor). I am not bothered about brands and the stuff she picks up is hard-wearing and functional. |

I know when I first started running I just wore my normal everyday trainers, then went and bought a pair of cheap running ones (I think from sports direct). I did a lot of walking so a lot of those clothes I could use

The actual brands such as Nike & Adidas have outlets on their websites that you can get some good bargains from if you are not too bothered about colour or the latest model. And both are very good for returns if the item isn't right.

Does anyone actually buy shoes at full price? I guess some people must do...I always just buy last year's model/colourway. Usually the tweaks are minimal.
