fetcheveryone 8 Jul 5:29pm, 8 Jul 2024 30,770 posts	0 fetcheveryone I've made an amendment to the 'Need a break?' option in WSW settings: fetcheveryone.com/wsw-settings.php You can now choose "Pause participation" which will excuse you from play until you undo it by clicking 'Jump back in'. I get that sometimes you need to take a break for physical and/or mental reasons. But in order to make it fair on other players, I've introduced a four point penalty for each week that you're out of the game. I hope this will deter folks from preserving a high rating indefinitely by pausing.

Always been good you have have a break, but also good to discourage people from rank-squatting (can that be a thing?) or from cherry picking which weeks they do. Four points per week seems about right for a flat rate (a small but escalating penalty could have also worked, but is more complicated)

I think I suggested the penalty in a feature request a long time ago so that could be closed (no idea of the number though!).
