Thanks fetcheveryone I think I'm just a klutz. The square bracket box appeared but I didn't know if I'd put the right user in so I deleted it and went to do it again but when I typed I didn't get any suggestions coming up - and in the meantime I kept pressing enter by mistake...I'll get there in the end!!

Noob question:
Is the optimal strategy to ride your grid, stop for a minute in each sector to walk 100m (logging with a second device), run 0.1 miles back then ride to the next?

It might take less time to cycle, walk and run the grid in succession.

Hi Reiver! I noticed that our game history is 0-0, yet I had hunch that we'd played sometime before and looking back at my history, I see that we had. We drew 89-89 😀

If you want to see what works watch the training log of two really competitive players in the Multiplayer final!

I've usually found longer biking routes followed by short sections alternating running and walking works effectively, but strategy will depend on your terrain and road locations.

Past 2 days I’ve walked, cycled and ran the 32 squares block I own (31 squares scoring 10 on day 2). I can imaging cycling every 400m, jumping off, running away, then walking back, would look really strange, and I’d be forever be fiddling with the watches. So I think I’ll stick to my standard strategy. It’s a lovely early morning walk around a Loch with ducks and swans.

Though thanks for the heads up. If it gets tactical toward the end, perhaps I’ll have to adopt a different strategy?

Good luck

Just has a look at RunRuss, who looks to use the strategy you describe, or something similar, from this image of lots of very short runs and walks.
