I was being creative with extra exercise like a ‘walk to the shops’ or ‘walk home/to work’ but I’m not bothering any more!

NDW Dave - I don’t think it means your longest run ever, it means the specific run you are going to drive to on that occasion. In your case why not just run to Swindon and back 😉. No driving at all

I’m a Swindon town fan but can think of many places I would rather run to...
That run took 37 hours so I could drive 18 hours to somewhere and not be breaching that guideline. Barnard castle is only a 260 miles from my house...

So, next week is the last week before club training resumes, at which point running in my grid is going to be happening less often anyway (so it's probably a good thing that I'm unlikely to make the multimatch, even if it did sound like fun). Who can I challenge for next week to get a CLOSE match. All of mine so far have been really one sided. Either I win by a mile despite doing half of my training on a treadmill or round in circles on the same 600m loop, or I get annihilated by someone who is out all day on foot/bike for their job or who just simply has more time on their hands than I do. Is there a way to find someone who generally covers the same number of squares as I do?

CC2 - I suspect you were unlucky to got Jase’d or Arif’ed as they rise to the top. Your rank of 1060 is probably a bit lower than where you would ultimately settle out.
I’m happy to give you a match if you want? I cover about 100-150 different squares a week and average about 40-50 miles a week in grid (reasonably squiggly).

Apols I only read the comment not the guidance CumbiaAndy I won’t be changing what I do I have limited time to do anything anyway.
A run + a dog walk is all I’d ever do unless I split a run into 2 to to fit around work & are all done as a loop from home.
If I was in the office I’d be running twice a day and walking so technically I’m doing less anyway.

OK NDW, come at me bro! I seem to get 120 max but on those weeks I was winning easily so didn't actively try to get more. I'm going to be a bit scuppered by a scheduled hill session that will involve running the same stretch of road 8 times (though that's probably more squares than I got running for over 6 miles round the same 580m loop) and tempo/hills session that I'll have to do entirely off grid, but it will make me pick more interesting and wiggly routes for my recoveries and maybe, since it's now probably allowed, do my double run days both outdoors rather than one on the treadmill. That might be pushing it though! Not a fan of dangers like curbs and roads before breakfast. The treadmill is warm and has fewer trip hazards for a morning zombie.

SpeedyGoth, if it's any consolation..... looking at your times you would destroy me in a real life running race
