TL;DR version - it is just a game* and I donโt think the rule change will actually make that much of a difference in practice.
*a game that I am one of the top 10 in the world at... for now... : )

After reading the TOTP I just had to check whether I was still in the 'World Top 10'!
Another vote for counting only one foot based exercise per day. I think every other solution adds too much unnecessary complexity.
Not sure how many days I'll be running, walking, staggering or otherwise making relentless forward progress in square this week Daddy Shark, but hello anyway. Conquercise might seem more attractive than another WSW challenge if the weather holds up.

Cerid = Quick answer - for most people win equals 12 points . Loss loses 12 points but cant drop below 1000. Dont worry about long answer unless you get in top 20 or so

When I first signed up to this game I didn't get any points as walking didn't count at all. In the first few weeks I was lucky to get a draw if I was up against someone not doing everything. Otherwise I got my arse whupped!
Then walking got you 1 point per square and I dragged my bike out from the spare room. Still not much use against runners but my quantity over quality approach got me some wins.
Now that walking counts as 2 points I'll be interested to see if it improves my ratio at all.
And I still have to attempt Project Ocho - even if it should be called Nueve now
