Mrs Jigs, it's the first week I have recognised my oppo on the forum, woohoo. My daily output never gets better than this. The walk tonight was only that far 'cos I was a muppet re my Fetchpoint bug earlier today. Have fun and I'm happy just to be motivated to get out off my slovenly bottom. :-). Look forward to the challenge

An evenly matched first day Roberton! I even did my run home a different route both end of walk and beginning of run was our of grid. Quite pleased with myself as we left in-laws later than anticipated and it would have been very easy to sack it off as it was it was a great little 2m run.

You've done so well NN, so impressed with how you have really pushed yourself... you should be super proud of what you have achieved!
I've found today's forum really disheartening, and I was knocked out of multiplayer a couple of weeks ago.
I think we all need to remember this is a game.
If you use it to get out more, and you end up going round the block for a couple of miles on your bike in order to strengthen or nab back a couple of squares, why is that wrong? If you walk up a big hill and then run down it, but each way is only a mile, and 5 squares, but it's all you can do, why are those two short activities any less worthy of being logged and included than a 20 miler?
Can we go back to friendly, all inclusive feeling Fetch please?

^^ barefootem I do agree and I can’t believe anyone would actively cheat to win a virtual game. Going out multiple times a day to exercise whatever the motivation has to be good for us.

Barefootem This is exactly it, after reading the forums today I felt almost like a fraud for my short trips, I have tried so so so hard to run and I can almost run a mile albeit slowly, I'm nowhere near running a marathon that's for sure, and for me running a mile around my house, having a pit stop then taking one of the kids on a mile walk has actually meant the whole family have been involved and I've had some lovely quality time with the kids too.
And the lad Ive been working with in school has loved being a part of his teacher's square hunting around the school, he's had me on the bike whizzing around in circles chasing him and has loved having a look on the computer to see if there are any bugs we can infect!! and playtime is so much more fun when you have an adult chasing you around the playground than just stood looking at them!

Me too Em. It is so rare to find a good motivating entry level game which just keeps pushing you to walk back a longer way and maybe break into a run and where speed isn’t everything

Now that I have my bike serviced I’m afraid it will be the same streets I go round and round in so that I can gain some confidence

NN just read your post back ther and want to say flipping well done!! You are a runner and you are certainly meant to be here keep doing what you’re doing, fetch ethos is about support for everyone, cheering on people regardless of their capabilities and we’ve always opened arms and hearts to newbies. Maybe a little over excitable lockdown fever has caused a bit of added competitiveness but trust me you are welcome and deserve to be here.
Rest days are good, and I know too well pushing can cause you to break but a rest day and an easier paced week you can certainly make semis. Good luck and welcome to fetch x

Well done NN. You don't have to be fast, you just have to collect a few squares now and then and remember that it's a game. .
