unsliced
Alice - same with me, given my locale and favourite routes my home square tends to one of the corners, apparently the same as someone else. Just worth tweaking your grid to try to interlace favourably ...

The lots-of-little-activities has always struck me as slightly underhanded, but it is the only way to ensure progression through at least the first 2 or 3 rounds.

Alice - maybe just need to test your bike is OK with a short cycle to the end of the road and back :)

Haha! I'm already thinking I might need to add a few cycles in next week :-)

.... assuming I'm still "in" next week, of course! A lot could happen in the next 24 hours!

unsliced perhaps a length activity needs to be logged before it counts as exercise, say 30 mins. It would stop the breaking up of 1 activity into many different types of exercise. May scupper triathletes though.

It can be a problem if you are doing sets and recording separately, or a TT that you don't want mixed with warm up and warm down.

I'd tend to favour a minimum time limit, otherwise, as implied above, it risks becoming a game of tactically breaking down activities into more, smaller chunks or adding in meaningless strolls down the street to secure a couple of squares, rather than rewarding those who put in the training effort.

If this does cause problems for some forms of training then it's unfortunate but is in aid of the greater good (whereas the opposite risks disadvantaging the masses to support the individual). Realistically there are always options, such as using laps to break up training into different components.

Guess it's a question of whether it's a game to support training, or a game in its own right.

Flanker - definitely sits under the Games tab for me. Plenty of room for the serious stuff under the Train/Race/Leagues tabs :)

30 minutes ftrobbie? 30 MINUTES??

That puts out most people's parkruns (although not mine) and some people's 10 mile bike rides. You'll have a pretty hard job trying to convince me that these shouldn't count as exercise.

If you've had to change into some sort of kit, its exercise!
