Paul, there is a way to only see your squares so you can check your coverage. You have to have been playing a while and find a game where you played someone who no longer plays. If you read back through the thread someone (Angus?) posted a link to a spreadsheet with all past games in it and you could find the URL of a game you need to view. Sorry that explanation probably doesn’t make much sense but if you can find the spreadsheet it will hopefully help!

I've a match in my history vs. Totriornottotri who us a nil scorer so far this week.

Would anyone have a link to the spreadsheet handy? I've gone back through the thread but am drawing a blank.

Getting cake is always a good thing! In this game though a cake square indicates shared ownership so no one gets the points. So if you run through an opponent's square where they are 2 points ahead - that will become a cake square. Their overall score will go down by one, yours will stay the same.

If there is cake it represents a relatively easy point to be picked up to enhance your own score.

If you can *make* cake it will actively decrease your opponent's score.

In a close game a run that will leave you owning some new squares and caking some others will improve your standing compared with your opponent the most (your score goes up AND theirs goes down), but there's always the risk your opponent will take back the squares you've caked in their next activity.

Forgot to say thanks Sam for the spreadsheet, it’s been invaluable in my quest for Gridmaster this week (13 squares to go!)
