Sigh, so are you in favour of the status quo, or a change?

I had a thought for a variation, which would be that you get an extra point if you are first to upload in the day (to avoid stockpiling). Oh and only upload for that day, you can't save yesterday's until today etc. The extra point for first in the day would just add a bit of spice?

I'm OK with there being a deadline. And the Mon morning excitement is quite fun. But I think the run should be logged when the run is done, not "saved up". By all means go out and run last minute. But not run yesterday then save it up until 11.55 Mon.

However, I shouldn't really have a say as I don't actually play the game tactically. I just run, and what will be will be! :-) G

The game has improved since Fetch did away with first poster bonuses IMO.

And I thought we could only upload on the same day now (never tried holding training overnight). As you only get one visit per day it would often be counterproductive to upload two runs on the one day.

+1 HappyG

I'd be in favour of activities needing to be uploaded within an hour of ending in order to qualify for the game, as well as needing to end after noon on Monday to qualify for that week that follows

Sigh
DS, if it's affecting a lot of the games then I'm in favour of a change, since I don't attempt to skew the uploads anyway.

Last year I got into a bad habit of taking breaks in an attempt to preserve my ranking if I felt that I couldn't give it my all the following week. All that did was lead to me being kept artificially high in the rankings and it was unsustainable. So, since week 85 (w/c 25.11.19) I've just played each week and let my ranking fall to a level which was more natural for me.

If I have a few weeks where ambitious competitors are passing through then I drop a bit lower, but I expect to level out around 1070-1082. Higher than that and I'll soon get knocked back down, which is fine, it stops being fun when you're robustly beaten week after week.

If I'm completely out of grid or incapacitated then I'll take a break, but otherwise, I just play it straight.

57.5 Degrees of Pain
People have so much variety in the way they upload that it is hard to get too prescriptive. If I use my phone it loads easily, but tracks get messed up by taking photos. If I use my Garmin the upload process can only be done at home and is very hit and miss. It could take well over an hour for a long run.

If it ain't broke, do we need to make Fetch take time to fix it?

My Garmin can only upload with an ANT stick and laptop, so a Monday morning commute, despite being before 12, can only be uploaded once I'm home in the evening.

Westmoors, you are a fine adversary and a really consistent strong runner. I have to do the occasional bike ride as a rest day or I'll break.

I too like to run lots of different routes. However, this week they’ve all started with the same first half mile, and on the days I haven’t run I’ve walked it, for exercise and pleasure.
