If you get a list of profiles, you can skim through then go back and look at the best ones. But no, you see one profile and have to make an instant yes/no decision before seeing the next one. I know it's a bit degrading to reduce everyone to a score, but at its simplest level, that's how dating works. Obviously, like everyone else, I'm looking for a 10, so I swipe left on anyone less than an 8. But then I get to the end of the list and realise I've been to picky and I'll have to make do with a 7, but it's too late, they've all gone. The other option is to set myself a minimum standard and swipe right on anyone better than a 2. But then I might as well swipe right on everyone, which makes the whole thing pointless. I can't imagine anyone who thinks this is a good way to meet people being the sort of person I'd want to meet.

Like all those apps, the more you engage, the more you get out of it, but take it with a pinch of salt and not too seriously. I did meet my partner via Bumble and we’ve been together nearly 4y, but apps aren’t right for everyone and they can be quite disheartening
