If I invited a friend (who I happen to find attractive and I *think* is single - he lives in another city so can't be too sure) to a gig, and he said yes, does that count as a date or just friends going to a gig? We could have gotten together last October, but I was informed I had two suitors that night and picked the wrong one. Never been in that situation before and got confused! I know that at least back then he did fancy me, but I also know that a couple of months ago he was seeing someone and I don't know if that's still on or not. But, like me, he's home alone on a friday night....

It would never work anyway, he's not a runner and he lives a long long way away.

On the date question : I was asked about what constitutes a date by a female friend the other day - I just did my best bloke guess but then sought the opinion of a different female friend when the opportunity presented itself. . . . She said that if you erm . . . how shall I put this not using her words . . . . if you attend to your lady garden beforehand then its a date
I didn't relay this back to the original questioner as I know her lady garden to be always immaculate
I understand the non-runner issue - about 0.1% of non-running women my age are slim enough for me to be interested, in the running fraternity it goes up to about 10%. Obviously it goes without saying that I never assume this is reciprocated.

slim + non-runner is almost impossible to find unless you're happy to settle for either smokers or druggies in my experience...
