I did once score very highly on a ‘Life and times of Muhammad Ali’, another nerd level interest of mine.
I was surprised how easy the Joy Division questions were, guess it’s perspective as the other specialised subjects always seem incredibly difficult.

JD would be a great topic for a fan. Short history. Few recordings. Constant line up

Indeed DT, short history, few recordings & constant lineup really helps. I'm sure contestants have had specialist subject on a single album like say 'Nevermind' before, so don't even need to cover stuff before and after.

I’d also do the novels of Evelyn Waugh as a second specialist subject.
Not sure on a third.

Listening to the JD one on YT I could have barked out the correct answer a few times well before Humphrey got to the end of the question. The contender never did, I wonder if this is not allowed in the actual filming.

Good mastermind trivia, of all the quiz shows I watch this the least but the expanding and changing word count is interesting. I think perhaps to even the scoring.

Oh yes... perhaps even the music of William Shatner...

TRO: no, you can't answer a question early on Mastermind. If you do, the quizmaster reads the rest of the question out anyway, so you gain nothing. The current specialist round normal max seems to be 12, although I think a couple of people have scored thirteen by being very, very sharp with their answers, giving the extra second or two necessary for an additional question to be started.
Not sure what you could get on the general knowledge round currently, maybe seventeen? Think I've got sixteen, definitely scored fifteen.

I am not sure I know enough about anything. Maybe I could do parkrun with a bit of revision!
