My dear old thing, I would be inclined towards football or music in 1985-1994 or some such nonsense. I have a narrow window of very good recall and a load of nonsensical knowledge (what is the French for shoulders and why do I know)

The Medway Valley? Or is that *far* too precise?
Pet Shop Boys between 1986 and 1996?
My dissertation was "The benefits and disadvantages of cross-border working in the European Sphere, with particular relation to the Tri-Rhena, and Saar-Lorraine-Luxembourg Rhin Euroregions", but I'm really not sure that would do for the telly.

DeeGee... But surely the cross-border question is something everyone's an expert on already, isn't it? ;-)

One week a specialist subject was 'top 10 hit singles of the 1970s.' I got more right than the contestant. Something like that would be ideal for me.

I always enjoy it when I can match or do better than the contestants on their specialist subjects. I can usually beat them on general knowledge (but obviously I’m not under studio conditions which I’m sure makes a hell of a difference).

Joy Division for me.

Stumbled across a YouTube with a contender on this very subject, matched his score and reckon I could have answered quicker and maybe got another question or two in.
