You have point, Raemondo, but over here (Norway) even fizzy drinks machines are contactless so I use my Garmin to pay (which never leaves my wrist 🙂). I don't think I have used a note, let alone coins, since … before lockdown, anyway.

Yeah, vending machines in Belgium and NL are mostly contactless now too, it's just the good old fashioned coin meter on the washer and dryer that I'm aware of. I suppose the commercial launderettes may also still take coins, but I haven't checked. Other smiling news: we've managed to book our number one pick sexy science celeb for an event we're putting on next year. The whole team is doing little victory dances about it. |

In our road, I am this week's 'binfluencer' (first person to put the bins out, thereby reminding neighbours which one is being emptied so they can follow)

Following on from last week's 'dressing up as Christmas presents' by the sopranos in choir, last night they came as a Nativity scene

Wow, great to see somebody else has a duck money box, i was given mine when i was born by my great gran, full of 50p's (the largest coin denomination at the time). Mine looks more like the Birmingham version. It had a ribbon round its neck, not sure where it is now, i'll have to have a think and a look. Thanks for the good memories |

The irony that I’m signed up to Telephone Preference Service, which theoretically should mean that I don’t receive unsolicited phone calls (but I do) and received a call this morning from somebody from the National Call Blocking Service who apparently stop spam calls. I politely said goodbye 😀
