While I would much rather mark 11 November than any religious festival - and I appreciate that it helps raise funds and keeps the occasion in peoples' minds - it just feels to me to be the first steps in the commercialisation and trivialisation of Remembrance Day.

Have you passed through Chobham (Surrey)? They really do go to town with this, but I always got the feeling it's much more about their military links (surrounded by army bases!) than any commercial purpose.
