If anyone is up for being scared out of their wits by the state of the world today there's a new series of "The Coming Storm" out. I think it's all there to binge on the iPlayer, or released weekly on other platforms.

The first series was excellent.

In the Coming Storm, Gabriel tried to convince me Peter Thiel isn't Satan, just an ordinary tech billionaire with a lack of scruples/morals. But no, I say that the goatee bearded, cloven hoofed one, attempting to wall himself up in the New Zealand mountains post apocalypse, is still Satan. Mark O'Connell in his book on the apocalypse also paints a pretty grim picture of the man too.

It might not be a conspiracy, but crikey, that book "The Sovereign Individual" they delve into, is like the Necromonicon in that keeps on popping up everywhere, and whoever has it you know to avoid! I'm sure season 2 will be required listening.

Already finding out about how the John Birch Society has its claws into so many parts of the modern world. It’s genuinely scary.

No idea, sorry. I didn't listen on the Sounds app, I tend to download things with get_iplayer and listen later.

Anyone who does history podcasts will remember Mike Duncan doing History of Rome back in the day, and then going on to do Revolutions. Both fantastic series, the latter covering various historical revolutions including, but not limited to, Russia, Haiti, France, Mexico etc.

Well he's back after 2 years with a new revolution. Today he's released the first episode covering the Martian Revolution! It's very Mike and therefore quite wonderful, and he's absolutely a genius because I'm in for finding out what the truth is behind the history we all think we know about what went on and how Omnicorp were (finally) "toppled".

I think our preconceived ideas about who, how and why are going to be sorely challenged over the next few weeks!

New series from the BBC set int he Pleasant Green universe starting today. This one is "Aldrych Kemp and the Rose Pamir". I've not listened yet but the various previous series have been fun so I'm looking forward to this one too.

Oh, and back to my previous post about Mike Duncan, he's also started a new series with Alexa Coe which has imaginatively been titled "The Duncan and Coe History Show". It's had a rocky start for some unavoidable health reasons but the first few episodes have been fun and it will get more consistent I'm sure.

I still go back to the History of Rome every so often. Listened to the early republic and Punic Wars last week

Should really try his newer stuff.

You definitely should, @Ray25757 . The Revolutions series was excellent, although a lot longer than he intended in the end, and this new show sounds like it's going to be different but fun and fascinating.
